"Don't be afraid; just believe." (Mark 5:36)

A synagogue ruler named Jairus fell at Jesus' feet and begged him to come heal his dying daughter.  Together they worked their way through the crowd crushing all around them, until some men came and stopped them with the news that the girl had died."Why bother the teacher anymore?" they asked.  (Mark 5:35)Ignoring them, Jesus reassured Jairus and they pressed on to his house, which was filled with people wailing and mourning.  Now it was Jesus' turn to ask a question, "Why all this commotion?  The child is not dead but asleep." (Mark 5:39)  And, after putting the people out of the house, he raised the young girl to life.Our Savior's love is determined.  Undeterred by the extent and commotion of our pain and suffering, Jesus comes to give hope, help and eternal healing to all who believe in him.Prayer:  Jesus, there is so much commotion around us now in this world pandemic, and sometimes we feel lost in it.  Help us to remember that you are with us, and that nothing deters you from loving and healing us.   Encourage us to keep reaching out, with love and help, to those around us.
