Welcome to Gentle Shepherd Christian Preschool! GSCP was founded by Somerset Hills Lutheran Church in January 1993 and is considered a mission of the church. As a New Jersey State licensed facility, the state sets forth specific qualifications and requirements for Early Childhood Educators. Our teachers and staff meet or exceed all of these requirements. The entire staff is dedicated to providing a loving, Christian environment for each child in our care.
About GSCP
At GSCP we offer families the individual attention and care that they should expect from a small school. As a ministry of Somerset Hills Lutheran Church, we exist to serve the community of the Somerset Hills area. Therefore, we offer flexible programming and reduced rates for community area teachers. We also offer a limited number of partial scholarships for our families demonstrating a financial need whenever possible.

Fast Facts:
We serve children 6 weeks to 6 years old.
We have half day and full day programs available and we will work with you if extended hours are needed.
We use the Creative Curriculum to help with development.
We have 2, 3, 4, & 5 day a week options.
We have our own fenced in playground right on the property.
In the Summer we run a two week long, half day, Adventure Camp which our students love!

Gentle Shepherd Teachers
Our teachers exceed the requirements set by the State of New Jersey for preschool education. We are committed to providing a balanced curriculum by knowledge and use of The Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies and The New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards. Our staff are certified in CPR, AED and First Aid and trained in EpiPen administration and food allergy awareness. We follow all COVID-19 regulations put in place by the state, as well as going the extra mile to ensure the health and safety of our children and staff!
